GarageBand Tutorial Blog 19

This is my GarageBand Tutorial where I had to learn to create a brand new soundtrack using loops on GarageBand and foley sound for the a section of the teen drama 10 Things I Hate About You. This required me to create a certain type of sound to match the mood of the characters and mood of the film with using already made loops.

Above is a screenshot of the section of GarageBand where loops can be found, beats, guitar, synth etc. GarageBand has organized its loops in a way that makes a variety of combinations that sound great which is fairly easy as almost any combination you make with the loops works.

In the picture above you can see the sound level in blue under the blue loop which can be adjusted at certain points which is the case of the blue dots. Using this the sound level of an individual track can be made to fade in and out at certain points.

In the picture above you can see the video at the very top which you can synchronize the track with to create a certain types of moods using sound by viewing parts of the video. In this screenshot you have later in the film opening where the sound is quite heavy and urban which matches the grungy looking girl who is different from the girls in the car across from her.
